Frontrunners Wins Readers Choice Award

.jpg) Frontrunners has won the 2008 Readers’ Choice Award for Best Running Club in the Western Canada division, and the Best Place to Buy Shoes in Western Canada.
The Frontrunners GutBuster Trail Running Series also won the award for the Best Trail Running Series in Western Canada.
Each year Get Out There Magazine readers vote in a Readers’ Choice Awards for their favourite people, places, products and businesses that make active living in Canada so great.
Nick and I would like to congratulate everyone from our run group for making this happen and for making our coaching jobs so much fun!

Bear Mountain Resort 10k Recap

 The 3rd annul Bear Mountain Resort 10k took place this past weekend at the beautiful Bear Mountain Resort in Langford, B.C. The event had a record field of 305 finishers, up 54 from last year, and participants were greeted with the nicest weather the race has had yet.
The event which is billed as "Canada's Most Challenging 10k" offers hotel room rates, course tours, pool and hot tub access, race photography and filmography, and a post race afterparty which this year featured Victoria band, Jon and Roy.

2:03:59!! New Marathon World Record
|
 Ethiopian running legend, Haile Gebrselassie, lowered his Marathon world record again this morning as he ran 2:03:59. Gebrselassie ran a slight negative split for the second half of the race with Half-Marathon splits of 1:02:04 and 1:01:55. To watch the full video of the race go to 2008 Berlin Marathon.
